Amp & Adapter

How we make money

Amp & Adapter is free to read because of affiliate links. Here's exactly how that works, in plain English.

Affiliate links

Some of the links to products on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go to the retailer directly; the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket. Those commissions are what fund the site and keep it free to read.

Amazon Associates

Amp & Adapteris a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. At launch, Amazon is the retailer behind our product links. If we join a manufacturer-direct or affiliate-network program that’s genuinely better for you — a better price, better stock or better warranty — a link may point there instead, and it’s always your choice whether to use it.

How our links work

Product links route through a short /goredirect on our own domain before sending you to the retailer. That’s just so we can keep the destination in one place and swap it if a better program comes along — it doesn’t change the price or the product. Every earning link is marked as sponsored, and buy buttons carry an #ad label.

How prices work

Prices you see are pulled live from the retailer and stamped with the date they were fetched. Prices change constantly, so if our data is more than 48 hours old the number disappears and you’ll see “Check price” instead — we’d rather show nothing than a stale figure. Always confirm the current price on the retailer’s page before buying.

Our promise

Commissions never change which product we recommend or the order we rank them. We rank by what’s best for the buyer, and we’ll tell you plainly when we’d skip a product entirely — even one we could earn on. How we choose is spelled out on the methodology page, and our full standards are on the editorial-policy page.
